MapGenie: Hogwarts Legacy Map presents the landscape surrounding Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the main setting for the fantasy franchise Harry Potter. Since the game is set a hundred years before the novels, it also includes other areas such as Hogsmeade, the nearby all-wizarding village, and other areas of the Scottish Highlands. The first thing to note is that the map is surprisingly detailed and accurate as with the game.
As for the app, MapGenie gave fans something that is streamlined and easy to use. Once installed on your device, it offers the entire World Map for the game. This is further divided into different regions such as the Forbidden Forest and Hogsmeade Valley. Aside from the map close-ups, you can filter search results to show only certain points of interest such as Vendors, Treasure Vaults, or even Demiguise Statues.
One nifty feature of this app is that it lets you mark sites that you’ve visited. The Progress Tracker lets you mark key points in the mark such as discovered statues or completed Merlin Trials. This, however, is not directly connected to the game and does not automatically update. You’ll have to mark the locations yourself through this app based on your in-game progress.

Although MapGenie is not connected with the developers of Hogwarts Legacy, the MapGenie: Hogwarts Legacy Map app is a useful tool for players and Harry Potter fans. The interactive map makes it easy to mark the things you need, and the map feels very similar to the one in the game. Overall, it’s still very useful despite the lack of integration with the game itself.
